Antibiotic and Hormone Testing
BioPet Vet Lab is in early developmental stages of residue testing for approved and prohibited antibiotics and hormones in meat sources. Broad spectrum antibiotics are frequently administered in animal production for disease prevention and treatment. When extra-label uses are abused and withdrawal intervals are not met, these drugs can lead to extreme side-effects in humans and drug-resistant bacteria.
Testing for the absence of following artificial steroids:
- Trenbolone
- Zeranol
Testing for the absence of the following antibiotics:
- Ceftiofur
- Chloramphenicol
- Chlortetracyline
